Norman Sharlin
1940 – 2026

Norman Sharlin, beloved father, grandfather and husband, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2026 at the age of 85.
Born in Trenton, NJ on September 17, 1940, Norman built a life centered around family, hard work, and kindness. As the owner of Sharlin-Lite he earned the respect of both colleagues and customers through his integrity, dedication, and genuine care for others.
Above all else, he was devoted to his family. He was a loving father and a proud grandfather who treasured time spent with his children and grandchildren. Whether sharing stories, offering advice, or simply being present, he made those around him feel valued and loved.
An avid golfer, Norm found great joy on the golf course. He will be remembered for his warm heart, steady presence, sense of humor, and the kindness he showed to everyone he met.
He is survived by his children Deborah Sharlin-Greenberg (Dan), Amy Sharlin (Terrence), David Eide (Allyson), and grandchildren (Lauren, Jordan, Matthew, Sam, Megan, Tripp). He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane Sharlin. The family is especially grateful for the extraordinary care and companionship
provided by his longtime aide, Leslie.
A private family service will be held on Sunday May 10, 2025.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Michael J. Fox foundation.
Funeral arrangements are by Orland’s Ewing Memorial Chapel.

Norm,
We lived next door to Norman and Mary Jane. They were great neighbors and friends. We often would attend pop up socials on their back deck, which Norm called his Tiki hut. The vodka was imbibed and the conversations were mainly about golf and family. He was a special person who loved his family and always kept us informed as to their well being. Norm was an honest, humble, sincere and caring individual. In his later years he dealt with illness but never let it get the best of him. When we moved to Florida we stayed in touch almost every day. Norm was a big time Yankee fan and we would discuss the Yankee world all the time. We shared whatever we enjoyed watching on cable TV and always had a few laughs. He was a genuine person who loved life and family. Norm will be missed but never forgotten. May he Rest In Peace and enjoy eternal life.
With great sympathy,

So sorry to hear. My best buddy. Whether on a golf get away or out with friends for dinner, “The Good” was a special person. Introduced me to my wife, Karen, God Father of our eldest daughter, Pfeni. He was alawys there when needed. Parkinsons grabbed him later in life and his spirit will live on by those who love him.
Love you “GOOD”
FLASH
He was THE GOOD in everything he did as well as everyone who met him, did business with him, and I know how much he will be missed, as The Flash said his spirit will always be with those who were fortunate to love him.
Bad
I was friends with Norman for over 50 years. You would have to look far and wide to find a person as nice and kind as Norman. Since Norman has been virtually shut in by poor health I have spent a lot of time with him on the phone. He kept me up to date on the latest N..etflix shows and lots of local gossip! We relived lots of old times together and his memory was impressive. He also enjoyed speaking on the phone with his good friend and my wife, Patty.Cocktail hour will begin early today in his memory. Rest in peace.!

To the Sharlin Family,
So very sorry to hear of Norm’s passing. I had the pleasure of serving with him on the Board of Directors of Homasote. I always enjoyed his company and he was a good man.
