Abhimanyu Avhad
1949 – 2026
Abhimanyu Avhad, of Ewing NJ passed away on August 23, 2026 at the age of 77. He passed on a Sunday evening after spending the weekend with family and friends that had come to visit.
Born in Chalisgaon, India he moved to New Jersey in his teens after meeting and creating what became a life long bond with Robert Walsh, a Peace Corp member stationed in his town.
He lived in New Jersey for the rest of his life in the towns of Trenton, Ewing, and Titusville where he was married to Sonubai Rananavre and raised their three children.
He began and retired from General Motors where he worked in various roles within their warehouses in Ewing NJ and Bensalem PA.
He also invested in real estate and had several homes over the years that he rented out to tenants.
He was an active reader and was very interested in spirituality.
He loved spending time with friends and family and going to or hosting parties and get togethers.
Later in life he became an avid cat lover.
With most of his family still in India, he always made an effort to help support them from the other side of the world helping with day-to-day expenses, putting kids through school, and helping with small business ventures.
To Abhi, family was the most important part of life. He was generous, thoughtful, sensitive, and had a good sense of humor.
Abhimanyu is survived by his three sons Bhauraw, Vinod, and Anutosha. All three boys live in Pennsylvania and New Jersey and kept an active relationship with him for the rest of his days. Abhi was also able to meet his grandson Arin Avhad before he passed.
Family and friends are invited to funeral services from 10am – 12pm on Saturday, August 29, at Orland’s Ewing Memorial Chapel, 1534 Pennington Road, Ewing, NJ. Burial will follow at Ewing Cemetery.
