It is with immense sadness that we announce the passing of Faye Josephson, loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend on April 28, 2023.  Faye was born in New York in 1950 to Rose and Lou Hildenbrand. Faye and her sister, Lanie, grew up in Bell Park Manor Terrace in Queens Village.  Faye spent a lot of time at Bell Park Jewish Center where she made many lifelong friends.

Faye graduated from Martin Van Buren High School and spent her summers at Camp Louemma and Camp Quidnunc. Her love for camp extended beyond her camper years, becoming a counselor and meeting her future husband, Harvey, who she married in 1970 in Whitestone during a blizzard.  She received her BS in nursing from Hunter College after which she worked as a medical surgical nurse at LaGuardia Hospital.  Upon moving to Twin Rivers, she went to Trenton State College to become a certified school nurse.  She spent many years working part time in the public schools as she raised her two amazing daughters.  In 1980 she started working at the Center for Autistic Children where she became an advocate for children with special needs.  After the state closed the program  she moved  to the Juvenile Justice Commission where she fell in love with her “bad” boys.  Here she advocated for the boys to ensure they received the love and care they deserved.

Faye had a love for life, her family, travel and animals.  Faye and Harvey traveled the world but made sure to make their annual trips to Aruba and Cape May, their favorite places.  They traveled with family and friends over the years across the country and around the world, visiting four continents with special stops in Cuba, Galapagos, Italy, Spain, and Israel.

Faye also loved to have a great time and was active in community activities.  She was on the Welcome, Wellness and Social Committees at Stonebridge and was a Lifetime Member of Hadassah, holding many positions there.  At affairs she was always the life of the party, leading others to the dance floor.  She was also up for an adventure, conquering her fear of heights by going parasailing. Sadly, Faye passed before she could conquer her fear of elevators.

Faye believed in living life to the fullest and her mantra was, “Don’t postpone joy.”

Funeral services are 12:30pm on Sunday, April 30 at Congregation Beth Chaim, 329 Village Road E, Princeton Junction, NJ. Burial will follow at Mount Lebanon Cemetery in Iselin, NJ.
