Deborah Alexander

Deborah Alexander, of Marlton, NJ, formerly of Atlantic City, NJ, and Newtown, PA, passed away on Saturday, May 4th, 2024.

She was born on February 9th, 1936 in Jefferson Hospital in Philadelphia and spent most of her childhood in Atlantic City, NJ with her younger brother, Steven, and lifelong friend, Maxine Lippman. Debbie’s father owned and operated the Midtown bar in Atlantic City.

While attending Atlantic City High School, Debbie was an active member of the DOBS Sorority. She cherished her time in high school with her friends and was proud to give her commencement speech at graduation. Debbie went on to pursue a career as a Dental Hygienist. She attended Temple University and worked in the field until she was 81 years old.

Debbie married the love of her life, Jay Alexander on June 24, 1956. Together, they had three sons, Stuart (Bonny), Andrew (Tracey), and Jeffrey (Karen.) She remained by Jay’s side as he battled and, unfortunately, succumbed to cancer in 1991.

Later in life, Debbie met Benjamin Jacobson who extended her family further with Rhonda (Stephen Matthews) and Marc (Colleen.)

Besides her three sons, Debbie is survived by her seven Alexander grandchildren, Zachary (Elise), Jayme (Joseph), Leah (Joseph), Cassandra, Amanda, Sarah, and Gabriella. As well as her two Matthews grandchildren, Joshua (Alyson) and Aaron (Brianna). She is also survived by five great-grandchildren, Porter Alexander, Giada and Gemma Canale, and Bennett and Sawyer Matthews.

Her vibrant legacy and energy will live on through all of us. We will all cherish the summers down the shore, the Broadway shows, and the holidays together.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am, Monday, May 6 at Orland’s Ewing Memorial Chapel, 1534 Pennington Road, Ewing, NJ.Burial will follow at Fountain Lawn Memorial Park located at 545 Eggerts Crossing Rd, Ewing, NJ.

The family respectfully request memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society.

I will always remember my close friend and I will keep my Memories of her close to my heart. God Bless you and Rest in Peace until me meet again.
