It was an honor and an incredible privilege to be able to spend as much time as I did with Charlie. As a child I spent countless hours in the Byer home with hours and hours spent talking to Charlie (Mr Byer) in those days and he always had a way to make my troubles of the day disappear with his soft spoken and easy going demeanor. As an adult I have continued to be lucky enough to be invited to spend many more hours with Charlie and Carol and the family reliving my childhood memories as Charlie would tell me stories of when he and my father were growing up in Trenton as well as stories of my uncle and grandfather. I made it a ritual every time I came to Pennsylvania to make sure I would spend many more hours visiting the Byer home just to get to spend time with Charlie and Carol. I would be glowing after every visit. Charlie was a special person and I feel extraordinarily fortunate to say and know he was part of my family and I absolutely know I was part of his family. He will surely be missed by everyone who knew and loved him. I know I will miss him and alway love him❤️
I worked for Charlie in the early and mid 60’s. Great guy and great boss…proud to call him my friend. He and his lovely wife actually attended my wedding in 1965. God Bless him and his entire family…RIP my friend.
