Toni (Fortunee) Levi Algazi, beloved mother, wife, sister, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2022 at Lions Gate Community in Voorhees, NJ after 96 well-lived years.

Toni was born in Cairo, Egypt on May 11th, 1925, where she resided until 1966 with her husband Charles and five children.  She studied fashion design in Cairo at Haute Couture.  In Egypt, she designed clothing patterns for the Algazi children’s boutique store.  In 1966 the family fled Egypt to escape anti-semitism and ultimately settled in Trenton, New Jersey.

Toni worked as a seamstress before starting a career with the State of NJ.  She hosted weekly Shabbat dinners and holidays where she shared her Jewish Sephardic culinary and religious traditions which her family continues to emulate today.

She is survived by her children: Albert (Judee), Jacqueline (Haim), Ezi (Amy), Jocelyne (late husband Lou), and Danielle (Scott) as well as ten grandchildren and their spouses and twelve great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her youngest sister, Jeanette, who lives in Israel.

The funeral will be held Tuesday, February 22, at 2:00 P.M. at Orland’s Ewing Memorial Chapel, 1534 Pennington Road, Ewing, NJ.
