Sylvia Wiener Aronis, age 104, died August 19, 2021.

Born in Philadelphia to immigrant tailors Samuel and Rebecca Wiener, Sylvia lived most of her adult life in Trenton. She graduated from Temple University with a master’s in clinical psychology. She was predeceased by her husband Dr. Harry Aronis with whom she worked for many years. Following Harry’s death, Sylvia developed her own sewing skills into a business, creating custom designs. She was a longtime member of Har Sinai Temple where she made numerous creative contributions.

Sylvia was also predeceased by her daughter Frances Aronis Garber. Following her daughter’s death, Sylvia was showered with loving devotion from Fran’s friends and her own neighbors and admirers. This outpouring of affection never stopped – it filled a void and enriched her life.

Sylvia is survived by her daughters Norma (Ned) Rogin of Essex, CT, and Ellen (Jamie) Aronis Heard of Bethesda, MD, grandchildren Gregory (Missy) Garber, Robert (Amy) Garber, Jennifer Rogin Wallis, Alexander Aronis Rogin, Sarah (Brian) Heard, and Nick Heard, great-grandchildren Madeline and Molly Garber, Eli and Leo Garber, Eva and Noah Wallis, Wallis and Evans Rogin, Callum and Maisie Renehan, as well as several nieces and nephews.

She will be remembered for her passion for learning, her curiosity, her creativity and an indomitable spirit.

Funeral services are private but may be viewed by livestream on Thursday, August 26 at 12:00 noon (see link at top of page). Private burial will follow at Ewing Cemetery.
