Susan Kutell

1945 – 2022


Susan Kutell, of Monroe Township, passed away on Monday, January 24, 2022. She was 76.

Raised in Queens, New York, Sue was born to Myron and Eva Moss, and graduated from Queens College with a B.A. in Education.

Sue married the love of her life, Eric, in 1966 and they raised two children, Russell Kutell and Marcy Fantel.  However, her true pride and joy were her four grandchildren, Evan and Felicia Kutell, and Ethan and Ray Fantel.

Sue always enjoyed a competitive card game, whether playing canasta with her friends on a weekly basis or playing blackjack with Eric at a casino.

She taught for 25 years as a teacher of compensatory math and reading education in the East Windsor school district.  She was also one of the early congregants of Congregation Beth Chaim in Princeton Junction.

She is survived by her husband, Eric, her children and son-in-laws, Russ Kutell (Jon Welty), Columbus, OH, and Marcy Fantel (Matt Fantel), Kendall Park, NJ and her four grandchildren, Evan and Felicia Kutell and Ethan and Ray Fantel.

Sue is also survived by Milton and Judy Moss, her brother and sister in law, Michael and Harriet Kutell, her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, and numerous nephews and nieces.

Funeral services are 10:00 am on Wednesday, January 26 at Congregation Beth Chaim, 329 Village Road E, Princeton Junction, NJ. To attend in person, the synagogue requires masks (KN95 or equivalent, cloth masks not acceptable) and proof of vaccination (within the last six months). For questions regarding requirements for entry, please contact the synagogue.

Burial will follow in Mt. Hebron Cemetery, Flushing, Queens, NY.

Shiva will be observed at the Kutell residence in Monroe on:

Wednesday from 7:00 – 9:00pm,

Thursday from 2:00 – 5:00pm and 7:00 – 9:00pm,

Friday from 2:00 – 5:00pm,

Saturday from 7:00 – 9:00pm.
