I’d like to thank the funeral director, Max, which is obviously several months late. Max conducted the service (yes… a rabbi could’ve as well). However, I’ve been to more than several funerals over the years. Except for my mother. I think Max felt I was at a loss as to what to do. So I agreed that he can perform the service given that he’s done this before. And my mother’s rabbi was likely long gone (she was 95 and he’d be in about 115). The eulogy was unexpectedly well done in a way that I wouldn’t have imagined. Relatives who might have questioned this non-conservative approach at first were accepting afterward (yes, Cousins Rami, Steve…but since life has a 100 percent mortality rate I hand over any argument to Max in this domain. Thanks for taking care of the formalities in much more than one way.
