Sheldon Reich, age 88, of Monroe Township, passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2020.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, in 1932, he graduated from Brooklyn College and had a long career as an actuary.  He passed his ten actuarial exams in prompt sequence, and worked on product development at Met Life and Equitable Life Insurance companies in NYC.

He and his wife, Shirley, visited all 7 continents with courage and adventure. Sheldon traveled the world with his family, watched over them, and never let them miss a boat! He would rescue the kids from Shirley’s next museum and take them to the pool instead.

Sheldon’s interest in astronomy brought them to Cape Canaveral to view a space launch and they got to see a total eclipse three times.  But Sheldon’s favorite place was the library. He was an avid reader and always had a book on hand.  He had a wonderful talent for drawing and creating with oil pastels.  His favorite inspiration was sketching his children from photographs.

Sheldon is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Shirley Reich. He is also survived by and was devoted to his three daughters, Lenore, Doreen, and Charlene and appreciated and loved their husbands, Bob, Harris and Scott.  He was very proud of his 6 grandchildren, Kimberly and her husband Dan; Robert and his fiancé Jennifer; David and his fiancé Stephanie; Erica, Jesse and Jared; and was joyful for his two great grandchildren, Miles and Emmett.

Private funeral services and burial are Thursday, November 5 at New Montefiore Cemetery, in Pinelawn, NY.
