Samantha L. Josephson, 21, passed away Friday March 29, 2019.
Born in Princeton, she was a student at The University of South Carolina majoring in political science. She would have graduated in June and planned to attend Drexel University School of Law.
She is survived by her parents Seymour and Marci Josephson, a sister Sydney Josephson, and maternal grandmother Roberta Hausman.
Funeral services are 12 pm Wednesday, April 3 at Congregation Beth Chaim, 329 Village Road East, Princeton Junction, NJ.
Burial will follow at Perrineville Cemetery, 755 Perrineville Road, Perrineville, NJ.
The period of mourning will be observed Wednesday following the burial, Thursday at 3 pm and Sunday at 12 pm at the Josephson residence.

My 18 yr. old daughter was a college freshman and was hit and killed by a drunk driver. The pain my husband and I feel is horrendous. I never knew I could feel such pain and not die. I can’t imagine the additional pain you are feeling because of the way your child was killed. Just remember to be there for each other and your other daughter; that no two people grieve alike, so be patient with each other; and God did not do this to your family, Satan and Nathaniel Rowland did (it angered me when well-meaning people would say it was God’s will). To the Josephson family, the tragic news of your beautiful daughter Samantha is devastating
As a mother my heart goes out to you. I do not know your daughter but the news struck me and I can’t get her out of my mind, She is an Angel now and will watch over you. My thoughts and prayers to all of you.
My family and I are so deeply saddened by the tragic loss of your sweet, loving daughter. My daughter is a junior at U of SC, and she has been devastated by this horrible loss, as have so many others across the nation.
I cannot even begin to imagine The suffering you must all be facing. Please know, that you are in the prayers of so very many people. I hope and pray that your wish of creating an improved, safer system of transporting individuals comes to fruition. I truly believe that because of this horrible’s situation, there will be better methods in which people will be able to get a ride home without fear and anxiety.

Hi this is Maurice Havens I didn’t know your daughter but I wish her the best of luck in heaven and God will be with her all the way and when she went through I’m sorry for what you went through and I’m from Trenton New Jersey and like I said she was a good person a good graduate student she was pretty and I think she was a great person and I feel sorry for the parents the family the friends relatives that she had

Dear Marci, I have not seen you since our last days together at Cadwalder School during the mid Ninties. You were just starting your family and had Sydney. You were always so sweet, kind and gentle with the children you worked with that I knew you were going to make a wonderful mother. It’s so difficult to figure out why bad things happen to good people that, for me, I no longer even try. God’s ways are not our ways. I live in Columbia and have friends and family that work and attend USC. I’m very sorry for your loss. Samantha sounds like an outstanding person that will never be forgotten by the USC and Columbia community. I’m very sad that she was taken from you while so far from home. Like many of the previous comments my daughter also attends USC, there is not a day that goes by that I don’t think about your daughter and your family. I pray for Sammi and your family ever day.

God’s Peace and Comfort I pray for the family of Samantha. As I was reading previous condolences, one person questioned why bad things happen to good people, to the point of just not trying to figure it out anymore…maybe that’s the whole point. Don’t try to figure it out…just do all the good we can while we walk this earth.

so sorry for your loss of a beautiful daughter…I don’t know you personally but what does that matter…when a mother hurts , another mother hurts…I am a friend of Bernadette’s, Liz Gambino, and her mother in law is one of my best friends…they have had their share and I lost my husband young also…in fact I think he did one of Elaine’s son’s teeth with braces…but your loss hits the heart and soul of us all…The why’s are hard to answer…I know I can’t and my faith is good, I have to believe that God didn’t do this…a very bad man did it…and he makes me sick….So I continue to pray for you all and hope someday you find some peace….I don’t know how but it will happen even though your hearts are broken . God bless you all…and I wanted to come see Elaine cause Sandy was also my friend…but I didn’t know if it was right for me to show up…but I am with you in thought and love always….

I will never forget Samantha Josephson and in fact, I stopped at the cemetery today to visit. While I don’t know you personally , I feel a kindred spirit with Samantha and share your heartache. I attended the service but was not able to go to the shiva. Please forgive me for that. Her name is SAMANTHA JOSEPHSON and I will never forget her.
