Millicent Lee Block Fineburg passed away on February 28, 2023 at 91 years of age.
Her husband William (Bill) Alfred Fineburg passed away in 2006 after 57 years of marriage.
Millicent was born in Derby, Connecticut. Millicent and Bill lived in Trenton, New Jersey until 1999 when Millicent retired as a kindergarten and grade school teacher in the Hamilton New Jersey School District. They then lived in Boynton Beach, Florida. Millicent recently moved back to Pennsylvania.
Millicent and Bill were active in the family business, Fineburg’s on Olden Avenue and then Fineburg’s Auto Parts on South Broad Street in Trenton, until it closed in 1968, when Millicent graduated from Trenton State Teacher’s College with her degree in teaching.
Millicent was highly regarded by her colleagues and remembered by many of her students for whom she carried for as if they were her family. Millicent was a firm believer in education and was proud that her mother graduated from college at a time when very few women did.
Millicent had many friends at Palm Shores in Florida and was active on the community board, loved playing cards and mahjong, attending current events, leading exercise classes and spending time with “the singles”.
Millicent is survived by her sons and their wives: Herbert Fineburg (wife, Lynn Rosenthal) and Lawrance Fineburg (wife, Rhonda); Larry and Rhonda’s children and her grandchildren Brian Fineburg (wife, Jess) with great grandchildren, Benjamin and Daniel, and Jaclyn Fineburg Lenet (husband: Shaun) with great grandchildren, Sophia, Olivia and Norah ; and Herb and Lynn’s children and her grandchildren Clare and Miles Fineburg. Millicent’s parents were Benjamin and Adelaide Block of Shelton, Connecticut.
Funeral services are 12:30 pm on Thursday, March 2 at Orland’s Ewing Memorial Chapel, 1534 Pennington Road, Ewing, NJ. Burial will be private at Greenwood Cemetery in Hamilton, NJ.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice, including any charity helping with school means and food insecurity of children.

WE are so sorry for this loss. Millicent was a force. She was highly educated and made an impact on students’ lives. I was lucky to have met her and played canasta with her as she moved to the Northeast.
She was a pip.

Mrs. Fineberg, was a meaningful presence in our family’s life. She greeted our first born, as his Kindergarten teacher, and our first experience in our family’s experiences with public school. She then served as our daughter, Gabrielle’s Kindergarten teacher. Mrs. Fineberg shared her address on the last days of school and she and my daughter developed a letter writing interchange. Our friendship continued over the years, and our daughter again sought “Mrs. Fineberg” when they had both relicated to Florida! We lunched with your parents and Millicent encouraged us by saying, “I’m here in Florida, if she needs anything” They continued their friendship, and Mrs. Fineberg was in attendance when our daughter married! As Covid hit, our daughter worked feverishly to secure a place to be vaccinated for her friend, Mrs. Fineberg. Yes, we have quite a memorable history with Mrs. Fineberg as part of our family. She will always hold a special ❤️ place in our hearts.
