Martin Clayman, of Trenton NJ passed away on July 7th, 2026 at the age of 95.
Born in Poland, Martin survived the Holocaust by escaping into the forests and joining the Partisan Resistance as a young teenager, courageously fighting against Nazi forces.
After the war, he pursued engineering studies, before emigrating to the United States, where he built a life through hard work, determination, and entrepreneurial spirit.
He first established a successful poultry farm in Vineland, New Jersey, helping support his extended family. He later settled in the Trenton area, where he became a respected, builder, contractor, electrician, completing projects for homes, businesses, and institutions, including Princeton University.
Martin and his wife also owned an operated a motel in Wildwood New Jersey, before he continued his building and contracting work for many years.
Martin expressed his generosity through many charitable gifts to his synagogue, including lasting memorials dedicated to the memory of his wife Ruth, and his daughter Yvette.
Above all, Martin will be remembered for his generosity, kindness, and unwavering willingness to help others. Whether through his work, his charitable giving, or simply lending a hand to family, friends and neighbors, he made a lasting difference in the lives of many.
Martin was predeceased by his Beloved wife Ruth, and his beloved daughter Yvette.
He is survived by his niece Shirley Camire, nephew Eddie Zelinka, extended family, and devoted caretaker Vasylyna Dudek.
Funeral services and burial are 12:00 pm on Friday, July 10 at People of Truth Cemetery, 1001 Cedar Lane (Corner of Cedar Lane and Ridge Avenue), Hamilton Township, NJ.
Memorial contributions may be made to the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum and to the American Heart Association.
