Leonard (Len) Roy Nemeroff

1940 – 2023

Leonard (Len) Roy Nemeroff passed away on August 19, 2023. He was born in Brooklyn, NY on September 22, 1940. Len attended Erasmus High School in Brooklyn and then went on to graduate from Rider University with a B.A. in Business. A week later he married his lifelong sweetheart Elaine (Feld) Nemeroff on June 10, 1962. They settled in Trenton, but then moved to Hamilton Township in 1966.Β

Len had a very active career. He worked in sales and marketing for a variety of businesses including Monkey Joe’s Gourmet Nuts and L/N Marketing Services. He was enthusiastically involved in youth sports. He served as an umpire or referee for softball, soccer, basketball, track and swimming.

Len was a dedicated member of the community. He was passionately committed to the Hamilton Rotary since 1984. He served two terms as president. Len was a six time recipient of the Paul Harris Recognition Award and the Matty Mathewson Award (District Rotarian of the Year). For his exemplary community service he received the Carl Kurlander Award. The campaign closest to his heart was the ShelterBox Project. Len raised over a quarter of a million dollars for ShelterBox and in 2018 was elected to the ShelterBox Hall of Fame. Len was also a proud member of the Hamilton Jaycees and the BNI Group.

Len loved his sports. He was an avid NY Yankees, Giants and Rangers fan. He enjoyed attending as many games as he could with family and friends. As a Rider alumni, Len enjoyed cheering on his Broncos.

Len had a quick wit. When asked how do you feel he always replied, “With my hands.” He loved watching Jeopardy and even passed the qualifying test two times.

Len is predeceased by his parents Asher and Rebecca (Dickerman) Nemeroff. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years Elaine Nemeroff and his brother Martin (Thelma) Nemeroff. Also surviving are Len’s three adoring children Rick (Carla) Nemeroff, Michelle (Michael) Miloszar and Gayle Green. Len was blessed with 6 grandchildren Kristal (Casey), Matthew, Cailey, Benjamin, Andrew and Taylor and two great-grandchildren Clayton and Christian. Finally Len is survived by a multitude of friends – he made them everywhere he went.
