Jennifer Joyce Rapp, of Monmouth Junction,  a loving, devoted, and spirited daughter, sister, and friend passed away after an automobile accident on November  20, 2023 at the age of 58.

Jennifer was born to Harold and Gail Rapp in Hinsdale, IL on September 12, 1965. Moving frequently with her family throughout childhood, she lived predominantly in the Midwest and on the East Coast, and developed a unique memory for regional differences. As an adult, she enjoyed life in Tampa, FL for many years, before returning to New Jersey.

From beginning to end, Jenny remained a free spirit with an almost uncontrollable giggle. She was deceptively smart, disarmingly funny, and profoundly loyal, while truly embodying genuine wisdom and strength of character. She was playful and insightful, warm and welcoming, and is already deeply missed by her family and friends.

For nearly 20 years, Jennifer was a valued employee of Lowe’s in Princeton, NJ, and held several different roles during her tenure. She loved and was beloved by her teammates, and enjoyed sharing stories about odd happenings, impatient customers, or whatever might have made her laugh that day.

She was the very definition of a devoted friend, helping people during individual moments or even as they approached their own final days.

And she drew constant, lifelong joy from her love of animals. Her cats had names like Tinkerbell, Sammie, and Bella, all of whom lit up her life as she doted on their every happiness.

Her life wasn’t always easy, but she remained an indefatigable participant. She was also a determined and courageous cancer survivor, and did the Sunday New York Times Crossword Puzzle (in ink) religiously. Her sister Florence, and brothers Evan and Daniel, are heartbroken.

Jennifer was preceded in death by her father, Harold and her mother, Gail. She is survived by her sister Florence Mitchell, brother Evan Rapp and sister-in-law Shelly, Daniel Rapp and sister-in-law Michelle; nephews Adam Rapp and Henry Mitchell, and niece Julia Mitchell.

Services are Sunday (November 26) at 11:00 am at Orland’s Ewing Memorial Chapel, 1534 Pennington Road, Ewing. Burial is private at Ewing Cemetery. Donations in Jennifer’s name can be made to the Ewing Animal Rescue League & Adoptions at easelnj.org.
