Jane Felder, formerly of Lawrenceville, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2023, in Palm Beach Gardens, FL.
Jane was born in Cambridge, Massachusetts and grew up in New Haven, Connecticut. She is a graduate of Simmons College in Boston, Massachusetts. During her time in Boston, she met her beloved husband of 49 years, William (Bill). The young couple moved to Toronto, Canada before settling in Lawrenceville in 1973.
Jane was a loving wife and mother as well as an outspoken community and PTA member. She decided to continue her studies and received an MBA from Rider University. She studied computer software design and eventually formed her own consulting company, JMF Consultants. She continued this successful venture until retirement.
Jane had a zest for travel. She and Bill visited all corners of the world and loved exploring new places and learning about other cultures. She was always active, whether it was ballroom dancing, Zumba, yoga, sewing, knitting, or walking with friends. She was a keen canasta and bridge player as well and loved spending time with her family and friends.
Jane is survived by her sons, Alan and Michael, their wives, Mara and Karon, and her four granddaughters, Samantha, Emily, Simi and Sohana. Her brother and sister-in-law Paul and Debbie Mendelson, cousins Nancy and Neil Lewis, as well as nephews, nieces, and extended family who where a major part of her life.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William and her parents Ted and Ruth Mendelson.
A celebration of Jane’s life will be held on Monday, January 15 at 1:00 pm at Orland’s Ewing Memorial Chapel, 1534 Pennington Road, Ewing, NJ. Interment was private.
In lieu of flowers, a contribution in Jane’s memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, Trustbridge Hospice Foundation (5300 East Avenue, West Palm Beach, FL, 33407) or a charity of your choice.
Our families spent many happy times together! Bill and Irv looked like twins somehow and that was an inside joke! Jane was an awesome friend and she is missed! My love and condolences to all!

Michael and Family, I’m saddened. I met your mom when you and Mark were in kindergarten at Ben Franklin Elementary School. We worked together as part of the PTA. Please accept sincere condolences.

Jane was the best neighbor. We had lots of talks and laughs. She was a bonus when we moved to the Hamlet. I feel like I have gotten to know her family through our conversations especially her sister in law Debbie and husband Paul who are wonderful people. I am happy I got to spend a good visit with her at her assisted living residence. I will miss her greatly.
I met Ruth and Debbie years ago when I wanted to learn how to play canasta. Jane came to visit her mother and joined our canasta group. We became fast friends. When Jane told me Ruth lived in Monroe Township near my mother’s house we made plans for me to visit from PA. After Ruth passed Jane took over the apartment and Ruth’s place as a canasta player. We spent many days and nights playing canasta, going to lunch or shopping and having lots of laughs and fun. I’m still having a hard time believing she is gone. It happened so fast.

My sincere condolences to you, Alan and Michael, and to your children. Before moving to Florida, Jane (and Bill) were my neighbors for many years in Lawrenceville. As well as running her own computer consulting business, Jane was a brilliant bridge player who enjoyed both Ladies bridge and couples bridge. She was so proud of her sons, daughters-in-law, and her precious grandchildren. It’s been such a short time since she left Lawrenceville. She is missed.
Jane was a great neighbor and friend to all here at the Hamlet building in the Poinciana Golf & Country Club in Lake Worth, Florida. Jane was kind and friendly and always had a big smile when greeting you.She made time for everyone. She was an avid canasta player and loved hosting card games at her condo. She will be greatly missed by all of her friends here.
I’d like to think that she’s playing canasta with Ruth (her mom) right now in the great beyond! Rest in Peace Jane.
