EWING… Evelyn Kruger, 93, passed away Wednesday, January 9, 2019.
Born in Newark, she grew up on a dairy farm in Irvington. She was the older sister to three younger brothers. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Montclair State College and a Master of Social Work from the University of Chicago
Evelyn was a school social worker in Woodbridge for 25 years. She raised her family in nearby Rahway.
Evelyn was an avid reader who loved to travel, attend plays and operas, and play bridge.
Wife of the late Aaron Kruger, she is survived by a daughter, Laurie Kruger-Azer (Howie), two sons, Danny (Ogden) and Robert (Joyce) Kruger, a brother, Seymour Lemmerman (Rose), and four grandchildren, Josh, David, Ilana, and Jason.
Funeral services and burial are 11am Friday, January 11 at Mount Lebanon Cemetery, 189 Gill Lane, Iselin, NJ. Donations in her memory may be made to yiddishbookcenter.org.
