Eugene H. Friedland, 67, of Lawrenceville, died at home on Saturday, September 12, 2020 surrounded by his loving family, after a courageous 4 ½ – year battle with metastatic melanoma.

Born in Trenton to Stanley and Ruth Friedland, Gene graduated from Bordentown Military Institute and New York Technical Institute.  Throughout his childhood and early adult life he excelled at baseball and aspired to become a major league baseball player.

He held many positions in the food industry, and he was most recently employed by ShopRite of Yardley. An avid sports fan, Gene loved the New York Yankees, New York Giants, and Los Angeles Lakers.

He is survived by his beloved wife Julie Robinson-Friedland, his aunt Ruth Friedland, his cousin Susan Friedland, his brother- and sister-in-law Cliff Robinson and Anne Skaja Robinson, his nieces Katherine Skaja Robinson and Brenna Skaja Robinson, his parents-in-law Toby and Paul Robinson, his uncle and aunt Alan Bekelman and Marcia Cohen, his many cousins, and his precious dogs Zoey, Joy and Molly.

Gene inspired us.

We treasure our memories of his bravery and determination as he fought this terrible disease.

Funeral services and burial are 11:00 am Tuesday, September 15 at Fountain Lawn Memorial Park, 545 Eggert Crossing Road, Ewing, NJ.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the Tara Miller Melanoma Center at the Abramson Cancer Center, 3535 Market Street, Suite 750, Philadelphia, PA 19104 pennmedicine.org/giving/TMMC
