Elayne Scheiner, age 84, of Monroe Township, passed away on July 21, 2020.
Born in New York City, Ms. Scheiner worked as a social worker for the New Jersey Department of Vocational Rehabilitation Services. She was a graduate of Douglas College, Rutgers University.
She is survived by her sons, Adam Scheiner and Jeffrey Scheiner, her grandchildren Amy Scheiner, Matthew Scheiner, Madeline Scheiner, Amelia Scheiner and Noah Scheiner, her daughter-in-law Lana Taradash, and her sister Barbara Schenfeld and brother-in-law Jay Schenfeld. She was predeceased by her daughter-in-law Robin Scheiner.
Ms. Scheiner was a longtime fighter for equal rights for women. She will be remembered for her infectious smile, her pets, and her love of all animals.
Funeral services will be private. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals.
