Eileen “Joy” Hartman

1933 – 2024

Eileen “Joy” Hartman of Yardley, PA, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2024 at the age of 90.

Born in Philadelphia on March 30, 1933 to Grace Stern and William Sherman, she graduated from Olney High School in 1951. Two years later she married the love of her life, Morty Hartman. They had three children. Nothing was more important to Joy than family, she was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.

Joy worked at an accounting firm for many years before retiring in 1995. She also volunteered at the local hospital and as a poll worker for local elections.

She was predeceased by her husband, Mortimer Hartman, to whom she was married to for 66 years.

She is survived by her three children; Lisa Dooley (Glen), Barbara Keleher (Bill) and Bill Hartman (Dr. Ellen Hirsh); her seven grandchildren; Matthew Dooley (Kristen), Michael Keleher (Angela), Susie Mitzak (Joey), Gail Dooley (Gundars), Gabrielle Hartman, Joshua Hartman and Ethan Hartman; four great grandchildren (and one on the way); Kellen Dooley, Quinn Dooley, Summer Mitzak and Carter Mitzak.

She is also survived by her three brothers; Ralph Posmontier (Bobbi), David Posmontier (Debbie) and Richard Posmontier (LeighAnn) as well as many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services and burial are Monday, March 25th at 9:15 AM at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA. Following the burial, family and friends are invited to a meal of consolation.

Shiva will be observed on Tuesday, March 26th at the home of Lisa Dooley from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM

Memorial contributions may be made to Jewish War Veterans (jwv.org) in honor of Mortimer Hartman.
