Ann Louise Blume

1931 – 2022



Ann Louise Blume (nee Aroniss), 90, died Monday, March 7, 2022 of complications from chronic kidney disease in Wyomissing, PA.

Born and raised in Trenton, NJ, Mrs. Blume resided in Lower Makefield, PA for 50 years before moving to the Attleboro Retirement Village in Langhorne, PA in 2016, and then to the Highlands at Wyomissing in 2020. She attended Cornell University and graduated from the NJ College for Women (now Douglass College at Rutgers University).

She was employed for many years as an English and Social Studies teacher in the Trenton school system, and later worked as a substitute teacher in both the Trenton, NJ and Pennsbury, PA school systems. After retirement she continued to participate in education by leading sessions of the Art in the Classroom program which introduced elementary school students to great works of art.

Mrs. Blume was a long-time member of the Har Sinai Temple Hebrew Congregation in Trenton and later Pennington, NJ, and as well as the Temple’s Sisterhood organization and the Book Club. In addition to being an avid reader, she enjoyed spending time with her husband and family for birthday and holiday celebrations, and especially on decades of family sea shore vacations on Long Beach Island, NJ.

Daughter of the late Bernard and Goldie Aroniss, she was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Herbert Blume.

She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Cynthia Blume; a daughter and son-in-law, Laurie and James Stout; a brother, Paul Aroniss; a beloved grand-daughter, Violet Stout; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be private.
