Beverly Geltzer

Beverly Bell Geltzer (née Jacobs), lovingly known as “Bev,” of Ewing Township, New Jersey, passed away on February 28, 2025, in her 100th year, surrounded by the family she cherished.

Born on June 19, 1925, in the Bronx, NY, to Samuel and Beatrice Jacobs, Beverly graduated from Taft High School (Class of 1943). After graduation, she worked for Rockefeller, operating the state-of-the-art accounting equipment of the time—the comptometer.

In March 1948, she married her childhood sweetheart and the love of her life, Murray Geltzer, who predeceased her in 1981. Murray served as an MP during WWII before becoming Vice President of Revlon. Together, they built a life in Baldwin Harbor, NY, where they raised their two sons, Bradley J. Geltzer and Jordan L. Geltzer. As a family, they enjoyed antiquing road trips to Vermont, New Hampshire, and especially Montreal. In 1979, Beverly and Murray relocated to Ewing, NJ, where she remained for 48 years in the home she dearly loved.

A talented interior designer and a true fashionista, Beverly also owned and operated Starbrite Laundromat for over 20 years. She found joy in completing The New York Times crossword puzzle, playing cards, watching the Game Show Network, and listening to Frank Sinatra every Sunday. She often reminisced about dancing the Lindy in her youth and going to the movies to enjoy a double feature for just a few cents.

To Beverly, age was merely a number. Strong-willed and fiercely independent, she lived life on her own terms, always greeting the world with a smile, a laugh, and a sharp-witted joke. Her positivity was unshakable, and she left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Beverly is survived by her beloved sons, Bradley Geltzer (wife, Mary [Conte] Geltzer) and Jordan Geltzer (wife, Lisa Marie [Ipsaro] Geltzer), and her adored granddaughter, Marah Geltzer, who lovingly called her “Nani.” Beverly’s heart overflowed with love for Marah, and the bond they shared was truly special.

We thank you, Bev (Nani), for the love, wisdom, and laughter you so freely shared. As Frank Sinatra so perfectly sang, “I’ll be seeing you in all the old familiar places.”

A private service was held at Kensico Cemetery Sharon Gardens in Valhalla, NY, on March 3, 2025.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in her honor.
