Carl Krause, 74, of Trenton, passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on Wednesday, July 8, 2020.
Born in Trenton, Carl was a graduate of Trenton Central High School and attended Mercer County Community College before beginning his lifelong career in the music industry. He began as owner of Trenton Music Center and went on to business ventures specializing in band and later in string instruments. He was a Navy veteran of the Vietnam War, a member of Masonic Lodge 38, and a member of Har Sinai Temple.
An amazing chef, he delighted in cooking for his family, as well as hosting large gatherings, wowing his guests with his amazing culinary skills. Another passion was boating, and he loved being captain of his ship. He was also an accomplished guitar player, playing as a Navy Musician, in jazz bands in San Diego, and later in local bands in the Trenton area.
His greatest happiness in life was time spent with his family and the pride he took in his daughters.
Carl was predeceased by his parents Carl and Eva Krause, and sisters Shirley, Charlotte, Eva, and Elizabeth. He is survived by his beloved family, his spouse Lois of 44 years, his daughters Kayla and Jenna, sisters Doris and Diane, siblings-in-law Renae and Samuel, Ellen and James, Dyanne and Bernard, Andrew and Alexandria, Jayme and Joseph, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Services are private and a memorial service celebrating his life with extended family and friends will be held at a future date.

I always looked forward to his wonderfully prepared salmon at the Sisterhood seders. We will all miss him.

Lois…I just found out about Carl’s passing. I am so sorry. Carl was such a great mentor to me when I first moved to the USA and without his confidence in me I’m not sure I would have chosen the path I did. Although we didn’t stay in touch too much I’ve always considered both of you friends and have very fond memories of our excursions to Atlantic City. I don’t think I’ve ever had blackened swordfish better than the way Butch made it and whenever I order it at a restaurant I will think of him.
He put up such a brave fight and every time I talked to him he was always so optimistic and I think his ‘girls’ gave him the will to live.
