Lake Worth, Florida—Dr. Stanley Fieber, 95, passed away on Sunday, July 21, 2019, at home after a long illness.
Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Dr. Fieber was the son of Sol and Ida Fieber and loving brother of Norman Fieber.
Dr. Fieber graduated at the age of sixteen from Erasmus Hall High School in Brooklyn. He attended undergraduate and Medical School at the University of Vermont. He was a veteran of World War 11.
Dr. Fieber was a highly accomplished surgeon in Essex County for fifty years. He raised his family in Livingston, and his office was at the West Essex Medical Center in West Orange.
Dr. Fieber was affiliated with St. Barnabus Medical Center, Montclair Community Hospital, and the Veterans Hospital in East Orange. For many years, he was the town doctor in Roseland and the physician for the Mountain High School football team.
Extensive travelling, showing his slides, playing golf as a longtime member of Crestmont Country Club, watching sports, studying different religions, playing tennis and handball in his early years, and sharing good times with family and friends were his passions.
Dr. Fieber was a founding member of Temple Emanuel of West Essex. He authored articles on innovative surgical practices that were published in prominent medical journals. Dr. Fieber established a Chair of Surgery at the University of Vermont.
Dr. Fieber is survived by his children, Laurence R. Fieber and his husband JP Cronin, Laura Fieber and her husband Dennis Minogue, Dr. Leonard Fieber and his wife Dr. Kristine Moran, granddaughters Dr. Jennifer Fieber and her husband Dr. Aleksey Novikov, great-grandsons Max and Drew, Dr. Sarah Fieber and her husband Atang Gilika, and many loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
A funeral service will be held on August 4th at Mt. Lebanon Cemetery in Iselin, New Jersey, with private burial.
