EWING… Janice Wolf Newman, 97, passed away Monday, April 8, 2019 at Greenwood House.
Born to Samuel and Anna Wolf of Brighton, MA in 1921, she was a graduate of the Katharine Gibbs School. Her high school yearbook salutation was “her smile is the smile of happiness.” She married Dr. Sidney Newman and in 1942 moved to Trenton, NJ.
Janice was an active member of Hadassah, Greenacres Country Club and Har Sinai Temple. She enjoyed golf, tennis, cards, and volunteering at Greenwood House and area hospitals.
Wife of the late Dr. Sidney Newman, she is survived by two sons, Dr. Michael (Rochelle) Newman, and Andrew (Jacquelin) Newman, 4 grandchildren, Daniel Newman (Belinda Lyons), Dr. Seth Newman (Dr. Bethany Perry), Kelly Newman, and Scott Newman, great grandchildren Isabelle, Max, Ella and Lilia, a niece Anne Wax and nephew Steve Wax.
Funeral services are 11 am Sunday, April 14 at Orland’s Ewing Memorial Chapel, 1534 Pennington Road, Ewing, NJ. Burial will follow at Fountain Lawn Memorial Park in Ewing. Shiva will be observed Tuesday at 7pm at the home of Dr. Michael Newman.
