Monroe Griffith
1959 – 2026

Monroe J. Griffith, age 66, of Ewing, NJ, entered eternal rest on March 18, 2026. He reached the finish line at Capital Health Medical Center – Hopewell surrounded by family, to be reunited with those closest to him who have passed before him. Born in Trenton, NJ, Monroe graduated from West Windsor–Plainsboro High School. Monroe married Angel Brandt in 1992 where they resided in Ewing, NJ. He was always so proud of his home. Monroe was a co-owner of a Napa Auto Parts Franchise in Trenton, NJ and retired in 2021. He loved being an auto-parts salesman. His specialty was selling automotive components, accessories, and tools to regular everyday people, mechanics, body shops, etc. If he couldn’t get you the part, he had the knack for finding it elsewhere. Monroe was dedicated and hard-working but he always made time to watch his Philadelphia Eagles games and NASCAR races. He was most happy watching football with his son James, playing the lottery, spending time with his extended family and his dog Lightning, his “little buddy”. Monroe loved fishing, watching Western Saturdays, Let’s Make a Deal, and The Price is Right. But most of all, Monroe was always full of laughter, kindheartedness and a man who appreciated life to the fullest extent.
Pre-deceased in death are his parents Garnett Griffith, Sr. and Emma Cawley Griffith, brother Garry Griffith Sr., sister Virginia Ann Buckley, grandmothers Pansy Phipps and Elizabeth Dempsey, father-in-law and mother-in-law Daniel and Janet Brandt, sister-in-laws Linda Griffith, Dana Brandt, and Sherry Griffith, and brother-in-law Christopher Closson. Left behind to treasure his memory is his devoted wife of 34 years, Angel Brandt Griffith and his beloved son, James Monroe Griffith, brothers Garnett Griffith and wife Michelle, Barry Griffith and wife Debbie, Mark Griffith and wife Vincy, Thomas Griffith, sister Emma Bobbitt, sister-in-laws Deborah Zuno with Bill Campbell, Linda Simon and husband Curtis, Delilah Closson, Carol Roberts and husband Scott, Susan Brandt, brother-in-law Daniel Brandt with Charlie Hurley, God-daughter Jillian Griffith Fortin and so many nieces and nephews who he loved dearly. He also leaves behind cherished friendships with Gordon Stevenson, who is not only an amazing friend but a confidant and a great man, he rode with Monroe until the very end, Mocha Mama and Miss Claudia, who he loved to talk about TV with, and his sons, though not by bound by blood but by love, Christopher Calhoun, Colyn Thomas, Noel Ogbonnaya, William Hearns, Richie Pagan, Tyrone McMath, and Perry Patel.
A special word of thanks and appreciation would like to be mentioned to Dr. Hao and the entire IMU nursing staff at Capital Health Hopewell for their dedicated care and incredible compassion for Monroe during his final days.
Visitation for Monroe will be held on Friday, March 27 from 4:00 pm – 7:00 pm, and Saturday, March 28 from 9:15 am – 10:15 am at Orland’s Ewing Memorial Chapel at 1534 Pennington Rd, Ewing Township, NJ 08618. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Monroe’s honor can be made to the Foundation Fighting Blindness by visitation give.fightingblindness.org

I am so fortunate to have known Uncle Monroe, even for a short time. I will always remember not just how kind he was, but how he was able to spread joy to the people around him. He had a rare gift for making the world a brighter place just by being in it. You will be missed, Uncle Monroe.
My name is Lisa Hall, in which my son is Tyrone McMath. Monroe was one of his favorite people on the earth. I have had the pleasure of enjoying some good times with him and his Family. Especially the party @ H&K when the Eagles played across the waters!! Enjoyed those Blood Mary’s @ 0900!!
GOD BLESS U and SLEEP in PEACE🙏🏽🥰
