Jocelyn Shapiro
1930 – 2026
Jocelyn Shapiro passed away peacefully, leaving behind a legacy of love, kindness, and devotion to her family and community. Born on January 26, 1930, in New York City, she was the cherished daughter of the late Joseph and Ann Popkin.
Jocelyn graduated from Trenton High School in 1947 and married the love of her life, Daniel Shapiro, in 1948. Together, they built a family that remained the center of her world throughout her life.
She dedicated more than 25 years of service to Mercer County before retiring in 1987. Even in retirement, Jocelyn continued to give generously of her time, volunteering for many years at Greenwood House in Ewing, New Jersey, an organization that held a special place in her heart. Her connection to Greenwood House spanned generations, as her grandparents were among its founding members.
Above all else, Jocelyn treasured her family. She is lovingly remembered by her sons, Bruce Shapiro and his wife, Susan, and Neil Shapiro and his wife, Robin; her grandchildren, Marc Shapiro and his wife, Ashara, Adam Shapiro and his wife, Erin, Scott Shapiro, and Jeffrey Shapiro; and her great-grandchildren, Brynn, Mason, Ruby, Grace, and Logan Shapiro. She took immense pride in watching her family grow and was happiest when surrounded by those she loved.
Jocelyn will be remembered for her warmth, strength, generosity, and unwavering love for her family. Her kindness touched many lives, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
