Linda Mayer Treilman, 83, of Monroe Township died on April 1, 2026. She was born in New York and was raised in Scarsdale, NY. Upon her marriage to Jan Treilman in 1972, she moved to Englewood, NJ and then spent 36 years in the Pennington, NJ area before moving to Monroe in 2017.
She graduated from Scarsdale High School in 1960 and attended Penn State University where she graduated with a teaching degree in the area of mathematics. After graduation, she spent a few years working in the Miami-Dade school district and then returned to the Scarsdale area, spending 10 years working at Scarsdale High School and Ossining High School. While at the New York Schools, she earned a Master’s degree in mathematics from Columbia’s Teachers College. Upon moving to the Pennington area, she taught at Hightstown High and then took a break from teaching and earned her accounting degree from Rutgers University in 1980, and her CPA certification. She returned to teaching in the 1990’s at Mercer County Community College before moving to the Pennington School in 1993 where she stayed for 15 years, before retiring from teaching while at Mercer County Community College in 2015.
Linda loved to enhance the teaching of Mathematics through the incorporation of technology, being an early adaptor of using a SMARTboard. She was an ambassador for the SMARTboard and presented to other educators how technology can be used to enhance the classroom learning experience at local, regional & national conferences; AMTNJ, Philips Exeter Academy, NCTM. She was actively involved with the Association of Mathematic Teachers of New Jersey (AMTNJ), serving as a Board member for many years.
In addition to her love of teaching, she was an avid Bridge player, having met her Husband Jan through Bridge clubs in New York City and playing with multiple groups in Monroe. She was also an active member of Har Sinai Temple in Trenton.
She is survived by her brother (Paul), Sister in law (Maxine) and Nephews (Joel and Howard) along with her sons (Erik and Mark), Daughters in law (Randi and Lisa) and 4 grandchildren (Laela, Miriam, Shoshana and Jocelyn).
Funeral services are on Monday, April 6th at 10 am at Orland’s Ewing Memorial Chapel, 1534 Pennington Road, Ewing, NJ. Burial will be private and held at the convenience of the family at Mount Pleasant Cemetery in Hawthorne, NY.
