Gerard Loftus

Gerard Loftus, 70, of Lambertville, known to his family and friends as “Gerry,” passed away on January 2, 2024 at Capital Health Medical Center in Hopewell.

He was born in 1953 in Brooklyn, NY, and he spent his early years there. He moved with his family to Ewing, NJ in 1959 and resided in Lambertville, NJ for most of his life. Gerry attended Notre Dame High School and Rutgers University. He owned and operated his own small business in Flemington for over 20 years. He then worked for the US Postal Service, retiring in 2022
Gerry was known for his keen sense of humor, easy-going and friendly personality, and for his love of sports – particularly ice hockey.

He was the son of the late Cy and Henrietta Loftus and the uncle of the late Matthew Loftus. He is survived by his beloved wife Veronica and their son Connor, his brother Robert and sister Claire, nephews Chris and Patrick and great nephew Simon Loftus.

Visitation will be on Thursday, January 11 from 4pm – 7pm at Orland’s Ewing Memorial Chapel, 1534 Pennington Road, Ewing, NJ. Private burial will be on Friday, January 12 at Ewing Cemetery.
