Joan M. Garay (nee Weatherby), of Ewing, passed away at Capital Health Hopewell on September 18, 2023 at the age of 92.
Born in Philadelphia Pa. on September 16, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Ephraim and Elizabeth Weatherby. She was predeceased by her husband Thomas C. Garay Sr. and 3 children Thomas C Garay II., Walter M Garay, Mary E Hamlin and Grandson Clifton Lewis. Joan is Survived by her children Robert W Garay (Donna), Donald R Garay (Janet), Kenton P Garay (Patricia) Majorie LeBron (Rod), Steve V Garay (Theresa) and family friend Kathy Hanquist.
She was a loving mother, grandmother (10) and GG (for 9 Great Grandchildren)
Joan worked at the State of New Jersey Distribution Center before retiring. She was a member of American Legion Auxiliary Hopewell and Ewing, and a former member of Pennington Road Rescue Squad.
Funeral services are 12:00 pm on Monday, September 25 at Orland’s Ewing Memorial Chapel, 1534 Pennington Road, Ewing, NJ. Visitation will begin at 11:00am on Monday until the time of the service. Burial will follow in Ewing Cemetery.
