People say that having Cancer changes you. For me, surviving lung cancer taught me the deep meaning of gratitude, and to not just make plans, but to do them.
My brother Stan and I didn’t see each other often, so whenever we got together there was always time spent reminiscing. It’s so important to keep memories alive – to make life more meaningful. Because of Covid, last summer my husband Mark and I didn’t have an opportunity to spend our usual days together at Beach Haven with Stan and Bridget.
I’m so very grateful that after 2 years, we made plans and last week were able to spend time together, talking and looking at old family photos that Stan had not seen for some time. We shared a meal as he would always say was “the best on the island.” Our time together last week was cut short because he was still struggling with his health, but no one expected this. He and Bridget left us at Long Beach Island for doctor appointments and because he wasn’t feeling well. Each day we thought, maybe he’ll come back tomorrow…no one expected this. I’m trying to keep in mind how fortunate I am that we had that day together last Monday. Trying to find some gratitude.

Well, my late wife Sandi and myself, probably spent over 30 years with Stash, Karen, Jeffry, Daniel and
Arron, along with our daughter Beth & son Joshua. They were FUN years. We moved to NC almost 20 years and still communicated via e-mail and phone until recently. So many fond memories, which I shall miss. My condolences to Bridget, the boys and families. Ed Levy
So many wonderful years of love, adventures & friendship. We are so lucky to have had Stan in our lives. Always in our hearts.
This news made my heart so sad. Stan and his family were dental patients of mine for many many years. It was always a treat to catch up and hear all about his many adventures. It was a privilege to take care of him and his sons.
Sending much love to his family and please know how much Stan will be missed by all.
