Orland’s Ewing Memorial Chapel

Our Service Options:

FUNERAL CHAPEL
A service at our funeral chapel involves a ceremony at our facility, which has private parking for 80 cars and seating for over 200 people. The funeral procession will then embark for the cemetery. Once there, a short committal service will take place before the final disposition.

PLACE OF WORSHIP
Much the same as above, except the funeral ceremony will take place at a suitable place of your choosing.

GRAVESIDE
At this kind of service, the mourners meet directly at the cemetery and the entire funeral service takes place at the grave. A few seats are usually provided by the cemetery for the family or others who have difficulty standing. Open-air tents are often available to cover the area surrounding the grave to shield from inclement weather.

IMMEDIATE BURIAL
This option does not involve any kind of ceremony, religious or otherwise. It is an option for those who want to have a simple burial within 48 hours of the time of death.

CREMATION is an option that some consider for its simplicity, lower cost, or environmental factors. We are here to guide you to the most appropriate choice based on your priorities. This can involve a full service with a casket that ends in cremation rather than burial, or it can be a direct cremation, in which the cremation proceeds without delay, with the option of planning a memorial service at a later date. The choices surrounding cremation are many, and we are here to walk you through them.

GREEN BURIAL is a movement in our society prioritizing the natural return to the earth after the burial of the deceased and minimizing the disturbance for our environment. This usually means avoiding the use of any chemical means of preservation that might seep into the soil (which often necessitates that the burial occur within 2 to 3 days), the use of easily biodegradable containers such as an all-wood construction casket, and choosing a cemetery that allows the casket to be placed directly into the earth rather than inside a concrete grave liner. This has been the custom of jewish burials for centuries, and as such we are experts on the topic.

MEMORIAL SERVICE
This is a service where the deceased is not present. It often occurs after a final disposition, such as an immediate burial or cremation, and gives the family additional time and discretion to gather the mourners and organize a ceremony. It can be held at our funeral chapel, a house of worship, a private home, or any other suitable location. This option provides the most flexibility to families who do not want to feel rushed when putting together a service.
