Ron Gold
1941 – 2023
Ron Gold, formerly of Monroe, West Windsor, Plainsboro, NJ and Coconut Creek, FL died on November 29, 2023, surrounded by his family after a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease. He is survived by his devoted wife of 56 years, Arlene May Gold, his daughter Ginger Gold Schnitzer (Jay), his beloved granddaughter Miki Schnitzer, his brother Marvin Gold (Rebecca), his dog Sadie, and many nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.
Ron was born in Brooklyn on June 17, 1941. He earned a bachelor’s degree in accounting from Pace College, and worked as an accountant, controller, and chief Financial Officer for several companies in the metropolitan area with a focus on companies in New York’s garment district. In retirement he had an online business selling puppy pads to faithful pet owners all around the country.
Ron was a character. He could be both a straight man to his wife and daughter but also loved being a kibbitzer and comic himself. He loved his dogs, the New York Mets, doo wop concerts, Caribbean cruises with friends and family, and his 2009 Mini Cooper. He never missed his daughter’s high school and college band performances, and he absolutely kvelled watching his talented granddaughter’s piano recitals.
Ron was predeceased by his mother and father, Fay and Irving Gold, and his beloved dogs Kasha, Yodi, Roxy, Chi Chi, and Zoe who, no doubt, have been eagerly awaiting his arrival over the Rainbow Bridge.
Graveside services will be held 10:30 am on Friday, December 1, 2023 at Beth Israel Cemetery Woodbridge, NJ. Memorial contributions may be made to The Jewish Center Schnitzer Family Shekel Fund for Adventures in Israel Here or the Parkinson’s Foundation, Kingston, NJ Here.
Ron was such a dear friend and a pleasure to spend time with. He and I shared political views oftentimes and would inform one another in advance what msnbc and cnn were delivering on that day. Ron and Arlene hosted my husband and me at their home in Florida and showed us such a lovely time. We will never forget the many occasions we dined out together, the helping hand he would extend and the gentleman that he was. He loved his family and was so proud of Arlene, Ginger and Micki. It’s so hard to say goodbye. I salute you, my friend. 🙏🏽💕🥲
To The Gold Family,
Every time I come into Harbor Chase now Ciel his delightful voice and smile would say hello Tonie. He would have some many stories about traveling the world and about his car. He would say I’m about to take this ride and smile. My deepest condolence to Arlene, Ginger and the entire Gold family he will surely be miss.
Ron Gold will surely be missed. His ever bright smiling face is a whole energy that keeps you going as soon as you step in the building of Harborchase of Princeton. My best experience is when he plays Bob Marley and stands up to dance is a memory he always like to share with the staffs.
My biggest heart goes to his wife and daughter Arlene and Ginger., super amazing family always showing love. Ron you will greatly be missed. May your gentle soul rest in Peace. My condolence to the family.
