Myrna Kushner

Myrna Kushner passed away on December 18, 2024, at the age of 91. A lifelong resident of Trenton, New Jersey, Myrna was known as a true advocate for her hometown that she loved so much. She graduated from Trenton High School and the University of Cincinnati.

Myrna married her high school sweetheart, Levi Kushner, whom she met while students at Trenton High School. They were married for 61 years before Levi’s passing in 2016. Myrna and Levi owned and operated Budny Fuel Oil Company, being joined in the business by their eldest son, Robert, who passed away in 2022. Budny Fuel Oil Company enjoyed a 60+ year legacy in the Trenton area.

In addition to her dedication to her loved ones and the family business, Myrna was a committed advocate for her community. In 1985, she also became a founding member of the Trenton Roebling Community Development Corporation, an organization established to spearhead the revitalization of the historic Roebling Complex in the Chambersburg section of Trenton. Her involvement in this effort reflected her lifelong commitment to preserving Trenton’s rich history while fostering its future.

Myrna is survived by her youngest son, Scott (Susan) Kushner, and their son Maxwell, who reside in New York City, her daughter-in-law, Mindy, and her children, Janet, Dr. Beth (Jay) Miller, and Alex, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Earlier this year, Myrna was blessed with the birth of her first great-grandchild, Ava.

Funeral services and burial are Sunday, December 22 at 12 PM at Ewing Cemetery, 78 Scotch Road, Ewing, NJ. The family respectfully requests memorial contributions to Greenwood House, 53 Walter Street, Ewing, NJ 08628, www.greenwoodhouse.org.

    You will be truly missed dear friend, as I was so honored and blessed to be able to call you one of my best friends for 35 Plus years. You are now at peace , out of pain and with your precious son and husband. Your loving memories will live within our hearts forever.

    Myrna, you will be sorely missed. I worked for you for 43+ years. You treated me more like family than an employee. You were like a second mother. I enjoyed visiting with you these past few months, albeit it short. That you smiled whenever you saw Tim and I warmed my heart. (Levi, your pizza and coke days are over now!🙂) Rest in Peace my friend.
