Murray Joseph Nagelberg, of North Woodmere, NY, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away on January 25, 2022 at the age of 95. After several months of declining health, Murray died peacefully with his beloved wife Geraldine by his side. He was living at Brandywine Living at Princeton, Princeton, NJ.
Murray was born in Brooklyn, NY, on December 16, 1926, to father Isadore Nagelberg and mother Ette Nagelberg. He grew up in Brooklyn, attended Boys’ High School and graduated from Baruch College of City College of NY, majoring in accounting. He worked for many years as a CPA with Shapiro, Bernstein & Co, a music publisher, as their Controller. He then went into private practice until his retirement.
He had a fondness for music of the “big bands,” and was a huge sports fan.
Murray was preceded in death by his parents and by his brother Abraham Nagelberg. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Geraldine Nagelberg; children Steven Nagelberg, David Nagelberg and Henry Nagelberg; grandchildren Elyse Highsmith, Justin Nagelberg, Jeremy Nagelberg, Jodi Swersky, Jesse Nagelberg, Hailey Purpura, Jenna Nagelberg, Ari Nagelberg, and Ian Nagelberg; and 3 great-grandchildren and his niece.
Graveside services will be held at Mount Moriah Cemetery in Fairview, New Jersey, on Thursday, January 27, 2022, at 1 P.M.
