Michael Snyder

Michael Anthony Snyder, 56, of Princeton, New Jersey passed away Tuesday, March 12th, 2019.

Born in Abington, PA to Norma and Eugene Snyder, he grew up Wyncote, PA

Michael was a graduate of Germantown Academy, and he later attended Dickinson College where he received a BS and then later attended the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University where he attained an MBA. During his time at Duke he met the love of his life, Barbara, and they were happily married for 29 years. The two started their married life in Philadelphia, and later moved to Princeton, NJ to raise their four amazing children. Mike was employed by MacKay Shields in New York as a Portfolio Manager in High Yield and Leveraged Loans. During his time in his respective field he touched countless lives, from those who he knew well to those he met only briefly.

Mike was an avid Philadelphia sports fan and took great pride in seeing his Philadelphia Eagles win a Super Bowl in his lifetime. He was a fitness fanatic who throughout his life ran several marathons and made exercise part of his daily routine. He was a pillar of the wrestling community in both Princeton and Duke University. Born with a green thumb, his yard and garden were the envy of all. But above all else, his children were his greatest accomplishment and source of joy in his life.

Son of the late Eugene Snyder, he is survived by his incredible and devoted wife, Barbara, and his children Erik, Ian, Julia, and Cole, his mother, Norma, his brother, Paul, his sister, Lauren, his extended family and friends, and members of the community.

Funeral services are 12 pm Monday, March 18th at The Jewish Center of Princeton, 435 Nassau Street, Princeton, NJ. Private burial to follow at Princeton Cemetery. Shiva will be observed Monday at the Snyder Residence from 3 pm – 5 pm and 7 pm – 9 pm.

    Barbara,

I only learned of Mike’s death yesterday, and I am floored and deeply, deeply saddened.
Though we lost touch with each other for many years, you and Mike have always been in my heart.
Mike was a superb professional and an even better person. The world is worse off for having lost Mike.

I wish you and your family nothing but the best.

    Martin
