Michael Joseph Green

1944 – 2025

Michael Joseph Green, of East Windsor, NJ, passed away on February 6th at the age of 80.

Born in Newark, Michael attended Fairleigh Dickinson University and enjoyed many different career paths stemming from his love of engineering and technology.

Michael was an avid outdoorsman as well as a nature and sports photographer. He was equally at home waiting for eagle chicks to emerge from their nest as he was beside thundering hooves at a polo match. Capturing the perfect moment brought him tremendous joy. He especially enjoyed meeting fellow nature enthusiasts and teaching them more about photography.

He is survived by his brother, Barry Greenberger, niece and nephew Tracy and Benjamin Schwartz, and grand niece and nephew Delilah and Mason Schwartz.

Funeral services and burial are 1:00 pm on Tuesday, February 11th at Beth Israel Cemetery in Woodbridge, NJ. Memorial contributions are respectfully requested to New Jersey Audobon.

Michael was a dear friend of mine – I took the picture shown here when he was doing one of his favorite things – cooking in the woods on a camping trip. We had many journeys together including car races, golf trips, and visiting with me at my ski and shore rentals. We visited each other frequently and I enjoyed his home-cooked meals. I introduced him to some of my other friends and they all enjoyed his company. He will be sorely missed – May His Memory be Eternal!

I was one of the people that Jack introduced Michael to. I became Michael’s good friend.
We would meet regularly at Jack’s place for dinner, drinks, music, movies, etc. – genuine camaraderie and good times. Michael liked to tell stories about his life and shared much of his life experiences. Sharing Michael’s love of photography, it was always enjoyable to see Michael’s polo and wildlife pictures.
Michael will be truly missed – may his memory be a blessing to all who knew him.

I am so sorry for your loss. He was outgoing in his retirement. Well balanced. Enjoyed life.
I always remember Mike as ‘He was my first IT guy setting up my computer at Raytheon, 1997.’

Though I didn’t know Michael well, I always looked forward to crossing paths with him in the parking lot, coming or going, often to and from his polo matches or photography expeditions. He was a friendly face, a good neighbor, and always up for an enjoyable conversation. Just seeing his beloved car parked next to mine brought a sense of steadiness and comfort. I’ll remember him fondly and miss his steady, pleasant and friendly presence.
