Maxim Borzov, of Trenton, passed away on Tuesday, February 1, 2022. He was 47.
Funeral services are 12 noon at Orland’s Ewing Memorial Chapel, 1534 Pennington Road, Ewing, NJ. Burial will follow in Floral Park Cemetery, Monmouth Junction, NJ.

I met Max right after he joined Solvay: He was hired in what would become our own local Bristol IT team, which he assembled and went on to lead. Back then Max was part of the “new kids on the block” Bristol scene, so logically associated with the French interns, one of whom worked with me: I have memories of those conversations in which we all talked about discovering our new surroundings, traveling, etc.
Max was a very competent scientist, no nonsense, fix-your-problem kind of person. He was certainly willing to be provocative with his comments, and always push the boundaries to fight for what he thought could be done. We will miss him.
I will always remember your happiness, your beautiful way to see life…

He will be greatly missed at Solvay. He always made me laugh when I ran into him. Alwyas willing to help no matter how busyhe was. My heart goes out to his FAMILY and friends. RIP
I wish to express my most heartfelt sympathies to Max’s family. I’ll have the opportunity to work with Max over the last few years and I consider him to be one of the most brilliant people I have ever met.
We spent some time on the road together during a number of projects and I really got to know him fairly well. I consider Max a friend and am deeply saddened by this loss. I will always treasure the time that we spent together and remember the laughs that we had.
Max and his family will be in my thoughts and prayers.
I have heard his name for years inside Rhodia and Solvay IT … and it was finally a great pleasure to meet you in person, at Princeton in 2017. We were all shocked by this terrible news … Rest in peace.
Max had such a wonderful, big personality. The last time I had a (virtual) meeting with him, he was sitting in front of a fish tank talking about how he had been teaching himself to make his own chemicals for the upkeep of the tank. He will definitely be missed.
I met Max shortly after joining a project for Solvay late last year and I admit I was at first intimidated by him. It wasn’t until a few weeks into my work that I understood who Max was as a person. He always had the wittiest things to say in response to anything that seemed pointless. He would also give us all a good laugh right after pointing out where we went wrong and giving us an extensive lecture. Though I did not know him for long I still feel the loss professionally and personally in the short time I have known him.
I pray that the family find solace and peace in all this during their emotional and distraught time. He was a great man who will be missed.
Max was always brimming with ideas and enthusiasm. It was great to work with someone who you thought really cared about making things better and was looking for solutions. When we talked, I was not always sure quite where the conversation would go, but it was a very good journey getting there. He will be missed.

Max was the big brother that I never had for the longest time in my life where it was really needed the most. I was fortunate enough to experience another side of life with him during a special period in time that I will unfortunately never have the chance to experience again with anyone else. His incredible personality granted us the ability to grow our tribe seemingly tenfold during that era. Max shined through everything with his humor and intellect. After a long weekends of “living” this thing we called art, I’d be thankful for not just having one of the best experiences of my life, but I’d also be thankful to have been made just a little bit more wiser after it all as well. My ability to think a little more swiftly, as well as be a bit more detailed and analytical I owe to being around him so much for so long. Ultimately, Max was one of the main reasons I built up enough courage a while ago to go back to school and finish my degree, something which the perils of life will never take away from me like it has him. I truly owe so much of myself to Max beyond what any amount of words can say here. My love for you, Max, your Mom Luybov, and Juan will always be infinite. See you on the other side, my best and most favorite brother in the universe.
