Marjorie A. Hersh, age 100, passed away September 19, 2020 at Greenwood House.
She was raised in Philadelphia, the youngest of five girls. She made many connections with the Trenton Jewish Community as a teenager through one of her sisters who resided in the area.
Marjorie worked at Mercer Hospital on Bellevue Avenue in Trenton for over 20 years, where she eventually became head of social services. She later enjoyed a long retirement with her husband, including many trips to Florida. When Henry left home for Greenwood House, Marjorie visited him every day for the six years he was a resident. She was also an active volunteer at Greenwood House.
Fond of knitting and needlepoint, Marjorie was a voracious reader, and she loved big band and dance music.
Wife of the late Henry Hersh and mother of the late Linda Stenabaugh, she is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Stephen Hersh and Margie Kelm.
Private burial will be at Washington Crossing National Cemetery in Newtown, PA.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the staff and administration of Abrams Residence and Greenwood House for their professionalism and excellent care of Marjorie and Henry during their last years.
Memorial contributions may be made to Greenwood House, 53 Walter St, Ewing, NJ 08628.

Abrams Staff and Residents
We spent 3 years renting the downstairs apartment on LBI, and formed a close bond.
We watched Hank fix all kinds of things and also do his exercises. He loved life, and always had a smilr.
Marge was a wonderful, bright woman who enjoyed her garden.
They will live in our happy memories
Before the virus, I volunteered at Abrams and your mother would occasionally come to the exercise class. I always enjoyed when she came.
Dear Steve and Marge,
I am so very sad to hear of your mom’s passing. Our parents were such dear friends for so many years. Both Marge and Henry were family to us. They spent many wonderful Thanksgivings at our home before traveling became difficult. They were both wonderful people & I cherish my memories of them. Sending love and sympathy. May your mom’s memory be a blessing.
Dear Steve & Marge,
I was so saddened to hear of your Mom’s passing. All of your family–Hank, Marge, Linda and you, Steve, were the best next door neighbors anyone could wish for. So many of my fondest Fieldboro Drive memories include the Hersh family. Your Mom & Dad were such good friends to my Mom & Dad, Rita & Tom Ahern. I pray that your Mom has been happily reunited with Hank and that they are both at peace. Sending all our love from the Ahern family!
