Marilyn Goldstein

Marilyn Goldstein, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away peacefully on November 23, 2022 at the age of 91.

Born on July 26, 1931 in Buffalo, NY, she grew up always wanting to be a teacher. She received her B.S. from Buffalo State, where she met and married the love of her life, Howard Goldstein. When Howard went into the service, she went with him to Alaska and taught there for a year.

They returned to the east coast and settled in Ewing, NJ. She taught in the public schools for 25 years.

She and Howard were passionate about traveling, exploring the arts and cultures around the world. Both teachers, their summers were spent traveling family vacations with their children, Marcia and Brian. Marilyn also enjoyed her weekly mahjong game with the girls and doing the New York Times Sunday crossword puzzle.

She was a devoted grandmother to her two grandsons and was very active in their lives.

Marilyn remained very close to her brother, Gary Sunshine, of Savannah, GA, and her sister, Selma Morris, of Buffalo, NY.

So warm and giving, she will be greatly missed.

Marilyn is predeceased by her husband Howard. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Marcia and Trey Kraus, her son and daughter-in-law, Brian and Nicolette Goldstein, and grandsons Zachary Kraus and James Goldstein.

Funeral services and burial were held November 28 at Fountain Lawn Memorial Park, Adath Israel Section, in Ewing, NJ.

A message of sympathy to the family of Marilyn Goldstein. She was a person who enjoyed life. I will always remember Marilyn’s devotion to teaching and her family. With deep condolence.

Our love and deepest sympathies to the entire family. We grew up in Ewing with Dr. and Mrs. G, Marcia and Brian. They were a part of our family. Mrs. G was the absolute loveliest person — sweet and kind and a tremendous friend to my parents, to my sister (Marci) and to my wife (Joanie) and me. We’ve lost touch since we’ve moved to Florida but we will keep the entire Goldstein family in our thoughts and prayers.
