Joel Millner passed away February 18, at his home at the Abrams Residence in Ewing, N.J. He was 94.

Joel was the proprietor of Millner Lumber Co in Trenton, N.J. where he worked with his father Nathan and twin brother Saul, and later his son John, until selling the business in 1997.  After serving in the Army, Joel graduated from Penn State, where he met and later married his wife of almost 67 years, Rita (nee Goldstein).  He is also survived by his sons Rick (Barbara), and John (Jennifer), and four grandchildren: Robert (Sarah), Geoffrey (Amy), Steven (Shelby), and David, and one great grandson Ethan.  In addition, he is survived by his sister Evelyn (Russel), five nephews and their families.

Joel enjoyed many friendships on the tennis courts, golf course and club house as a member over six decades at Greenacres Country Club (now Cobblestone Creek). He considered Greenacres, where he once won the club Ironman competition, as his home away from home. He was also a long-time member of The Trenton JCC, and Har Sinai Temple.

Funeral services are 2:00 pm on Sunday at Orland’s Ewing Memorial Chapel, 1534 Pennington Road, Ewing, NJ.

The service will be livestreamed, the link is at the top of this page.

Burial will follow at Fountain Lawn Memorial Park in Ewing.

Joel, upon meeting you, my feelings were generated to say to myself, “What a wonderful and kind person you are”. On different occasions you would visit your son John at Millner Kitchens and would talk with him for hours. Your love for family and friends was eternally forever.
You were a gift to your family and friends and your memory will live on and on.

Millner family, I am so sorry for your loss. Joel may you rest in peace.
