Jeffrey Goldman

Jeffrey Goldman

(1946 – 2024)

Jeffrey Goldman, of Bordentown, died peacefully, surrounded by family at Samaritan Hospice in Mt. Holly on July 27, 2024 after a lengthy illness.

A graduate of Boston University and University of Detroit School of Law, Jeff had a general law practice in Robbinsville, NJ for many years. His sister Bonnie was a partner in the practice for several years. In his younger days, he was a Captain in the US Army Reserves, participating in ROTC at the Bordentown Military Institute and at college. His other ties to Bordentown included the fact that his parents opened a store in 1948 on Farnsworth Avenue in Bordentown City and named it “The Jeffrey Store”. Growing up and in college, he worked at his parents’ (Norman and Sylvia Goldman) popular Bordentown Township restaurant known as the “Trot In” and after retiring from legal practice, he ran the family business known as “Bordentown Self Storage.”.

Jeff was introduced to the love of cars when his dad opened a Ford agency in Manahawkin, NJ, in 1955 where Lee Iacocca was the Ford representative! He loved Corvettes and vintage cars, he owned some, and he bought and sold many. He had an encyclopedic knowledge of cars – akin to that displayed by Marisa Tomei in the film “My Cousin Vinny” when she testified about the 1964 Buick Skylark! He loved attending car shows, and he so enjoyed his many friendships with his car-loving buddies. For many years he was the driving force for attracting cars to participate in The Foundation of Bordentown Traditions popular “Street of Dreams” Car Show that has been held for the past 11 years in Bordentown City. His other lifelong interest was in horse racing, inspired by his dad’s ownership of Standardbred racehorses and regarding that interest he likewise had close, life-long relationships with his horse buddies. When asked what he wanted displayed on his tombstone, Jeff replied, “A Life Well Lived” and a picture of a 1969 Corvette!

Jeff will be sadly missed by his devoted wife Shirley M. Littleford, her sons Jim (Amy, Preston and Kayla) and Patrick (Abigale, Finley and McKenna). He is also survived by his loving sister Bonnie Goldman, her husband Dr. Steven Lederman and by many beloved cousins and dear friends.  Special thanks to Dr. Lederman for his incredible support and care for Jeff. Funeral services and burial are on Friday, August 2, at 11:00 am at Bordentown Cemetery, 210 Crosswicks Street, Bordentown. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorial contributions be made to the Bordentown Historical Society, PO Box 182, Bordentown NJ 08505 or to The Foundation for Bordentown Traditions, 272 Dunns Mill Road, #273, Bordentown, NJ 08505.

Dear Jeff, you will be sorely missed by so many. You brought love, laughter, caring and though you would not admit to it, even wisdom to friends and family and you did it with ease and grace. The memories you gave us will stay and give comfort while we grieve your loss. Be assured that those memories will bring a smile to our faces. Thank you for the years of loving friendship and loving us just the way we are.
