Jason Edward Phillips

1979 – 2024

Jason Edward Phillips, known affectionately as “Jay Jay,” passed away on September 16, 2024, at the age of 45 inĀ Pennington, NJ. Born on July 16, 1979, in Trenton, Jay was a lifelong resident of New Jersey.

Jay was a loving and caring individual, always ready to assist others even when he had little to give. His generosity and kindness left a lasting impact on everyone he met, even in his death, he continues to assist others live on in life with organ donations. Despite facing his own challenges and being on disability support, Jay’s spirit remained unbroken, and he devoted much of his time to sports and activities with his children, which brought him great joy.

Jay is survived by his wife, Christine Jobst-Phillips; children, Brianna Jobst, Amanda Phillips, Ryan Phillips, and Adrianna Phillips; mother-in-law Linda Jobst and father-in-law Robert Jobst; sister-in-law Valeria Morgan, nephew Ethan Morgan, Niece Amber Morgan and great nephew Bryan Mitchell, uncle Kenneth Sochalski, sister Jessica Ricketts and brother-in-law Ricardo Ricketts, along with their children Kayla, Korin, and Destiny; and his brother Joseph Phillips and sister-in-law Shannon Phillips, and their children Damien and Emilia. As well as many other aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Phillips Sr., and his mother, Cynthia Phillips.

Jay completed his education with a GED and led a life rich with personal relationships and community involvement despite not pursuing higher education or military service.

Jay’s memory will be cherished by all who knew him as a beacon of kindness and selflessness.

A memorial service to honor Jay’s life will be held at the West Trenton Fire House Ballroom, West Trenton, NJ, on Saturday, September 28th, 2024, at 4pm. Interment was private.

    Jason and I played sports together growing up for a lot of years. I am sorry to hear he’s gone and so grateful to see he has such a huge family of people who loved and supported him. Rest in peace Jason.
