Floyd Lapidow

Dr. Floyd M. Lapidow born in Burlington April 30, 1930, the son of Benjamin Lapidow and Rose Milstone Lapidow, died on October 18, 2021.

Dr. Lapidow graduated from Burlington High School, attended the University of Vermont and Graduated from the Pennsylvania College of Optometry (Now Salus University). He practiced in Essex Junction for more than 50 years, retiring in 2000.  As a young man he was active in service organizations and was instrumental in local projects such as the development of the swimming pool recreation area in Essex Junction and the greater industrial corporation which led to the arrival of IBM.  In 2012 he and his wife of 67 years, Vonetta, moved to a retirement community in Princeton, NJ.

Floyd was a member of Ohavi Zedek Synangogue and The Burlington Country Club.  He is survived by his wife, his children Risa (Jeffrey); Seth (June), Amy (Anne Marie) and grandchildren Elizabeth and Daniel.

Graveside services will be held at 3 pm Thursday October 21st at Hebrew Holy Society Cemetery Patchen Road, South Burlington.

In lieu of flowers contributions in his memory to the Vermont Association of the Blind and Visually Impaired (https://www.vabvi.org/) would be welcome
