My cousin Dwight was a wonderful person who gave back to his country, community, church, and family. As kids we played together at all the family picnics and holiday occasions. I will always remember the week we spent at Beach Haven in a tiny house on Barnegat Bay with his parents and Aunt Maybel, Uncle Al, Aunt Madge, and my mom. What fun playing cards at night with the adults and catching waves in the ocean during the days. When Dwight got out of the Navy (during Vietnam) he helped me buy a used car when my old Studebaker died…it was all his fault that I bought a used Javelin in “Big Bad Green” (lime green) color …my students at EHS thought that was hilarious! When my son was growing up, I used to see Dwight every Sunday morning when I took Chris to Sunday School at Covenant Church…he was their security/parking guard in the crowded parking lot who welcomed everyone. With the faith Dwight had, I am sure he is smiling down from Heaven.

Dwight was an exemplary policeman. It was an honor to have known him and to have worked with him on occasion. May God welcome him home to the kingdom of heaven. My condolences to his family and friends.
