Bernie was a wonderful neighbor, contributed to our community through many volunteer activities and hosted many community dinners. We enjoyed many dinners with them, laughed at the current political situation, our community and the world. Bernie brought humor and joy into everyone’s live.
As much as I understood this was coming – that Bernie was unlikely to live through the winter – I am very sad now for his family and for our community. To know him was to love him. My heart goes out to Peggy and his wonderful family.
Dr. Broad was extremely kind to me both as a patient, nurse and friend. He always had a smile on his face. He once gave me advice after the birth of my second son that I will remember always. He will be truly missed. Dr Broad rest in Gods graces now my friend and Peggy may His tender mercies bring you comfort during this time of profound grief. . With sadness, Lisa Jacobs
Bernie was a true delight to work with. He was always there to offer advice both professional & personal. I remember Bernie & Peggy attending our wedding & driving me to the airport for our honeymoon. He was the head of our Surgicenter family . He was the life of the party at every function he attended, with his smile that was infectious. Bernie is not here physically but I will find joy always with the memories we shared.
Gratitude always. Deb & Jay
I had the pleasure of getting to know Dr. Broad on a professional and personal level.

I’ve known Bernie my whole professional life. He was so well-respected in his field, but much more-so, as a human being. Bernie was so full of life. Happiness exuded from him. His sense of humor unmatched. A family man to the utmost. He will be sorely missed. My condolences to the family. Peace to all.

Bernie could always make you smile, He had a wonderful spirit. I worked with him many years ago in L&D. My heartfelt condolences to his family snd friends.
I worked with Bernie and Peggy at Princeton Surgery Center for 10 years. Bernie was an excellent anesthesiologist and always a gentleman to us nurses. I remember Bernie with a smile on his face. A group of us from the Surgery Center had a “reunion” picnic early this year and it was great to see Bernie and Peggy. I will remember Bernie from that day–smiling and laughing. Rest in peace Bernie. You will be missed.
Bernie was besides being very funny was a fine physician that came from his prior practice as a family physician before anesthesia. Super specialists cannot really match the feeling that Bernie had for the patients. And they loved him. A fine MD and a very nice human being. Bye Bernardo!
Bernie was such a wonderful and kind person with a beautiful infectious smile. Our heartfelt condolences to your entire family. He will be greatly missed by all.
Dr. Bernard Broad affectionately known as Bernie by his friends was a rare gem of a human being, not a bigger heart or smaller ego could you find. To know Bernie was to love him he was always thinking of others, and always placing a smile on your face and joy in your heart when you were in his presence. RIP my friend my memories of you helps to ease the pain I feel in my heart. My prayers and condolences go out to Peggy, your children, grandchildren, and your entire family.❤
Bernie always made me laugh. He will be missed by all in the community and my heart goes out to all who had the privilege to know his spirit.
I so looked forward to my OR cases with Bernie. He was the consummate gentlemen, VERY smart and always competent and upbeat. We worked together since I came to Princeton in 1974 after I completed my CHOP Residency in which I was accustomed to the very best Pediatric Anesthesia. Bernie never disappointed and all my kids came through their procedures with flyings colors thanks to him. Danny is a chip off the old blocks block that could do stand-up comedy with the best of them.
Bernie, I will miss you very much. You left a legacy of which to be very proud. Peggy and the kids were so lucky to have had him as long as they did.
Dear Bernie, I will never forget our time together in surgery. You were kind, generous, original and brilliant. Rest among the Angels, until we are all reunited again.
We were so saddened to hear of Bernie’s passing. We absolutely loved and adored him and he will be terribly missed. Very few people have an impact on our lives and we were blessed to have had him included in our close-knit circle. Bernie was the consummate medical professional, cut from the old mold, always striving to be better. It also goes without saying, he was a family man first: a loving husband, father and grandfather. The world could use more people like Bernie Broad.
You will always be in our hearts, Bernie.
