I was curious as to what happened to Dr. Sherbin as he was my wife’s and my first doctor when we moved to NJ in the early 60’s. I, consequently, did a Google search and found out about his passing. I will always remember the Dr. for 2 main reasons. Most importantly, he treated my wife for hepatitis and nursed her back to health. The second reason, is somewhat clinically amusing: it was probably my first intensive exam and he told me to assume the position for a proctoscope exam. I followed his directions not knowing what to expect when I encountered the now recognizable sensation. The end of the exam “finally” came when he said, “I see you’ve recently had corn for dinner.” It was very memorable and I’ll always remember the wonderful Dr. Sherbin.
