Morrisville, PA… Annabelle Joy Block Temkin, age 90, passed away on Wednesday, December 25, 2019.
Annabelle was the daughter of the late Adelaide and Benjamin Block of Shelton, Connecticut. Born in Derby, Connecticut on April 9, 1929, she was a resident of Lower Makefield Township, Pennsylvania for 57 years. Annabelle was the president of her high school sorority “Pi Eta” and belonged to “Iota Alpha Pi” sorority during her college years. She was a graduate of Rider College, where she earned three degrees.
Annabelle and her husband, Abraham, were the proprietors of M. Temkin Store Fixtures, a restaurant supply business on South Broad Street in Trenton, New Jersey. She was also an elementary school teacher for the Trenton Public School System for 25 years at the Carol Robbins School. She was a longtime member of Ahavath Israel Congregation and Adath Israel Congregation.
Annabelle was a wonderful friend to many, but most of all, she was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She will be terribly missed.
Wife of the late Abraham (Gebe) Harry Temkin and sister of the late Burton Block and Cornelia Block, she is survived by her three daughters and sons-in-law, Sheila Davidoff of East Brunswick, NJ, Roberta and Jeremy Spector of Princeton, NJ, and Eileen and Dr. Norman Shoenfeld of Cypress, TX; five grandchildren, Sherri and Laura Davidoff, Andrea Spector, and Debbie and Brian Shoenfeld; seven great grandchildren; a sister, Millicent Fineburg of Boynton Beach, FL; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are Friday at 1 pm on December 27 at Adath Israel Congregation, 1958 Lawrenceville Road, Lawrenceville, NJ.
Burial will follow at Ahavath Israel Cemetery, Pitman Avenue, Hamilton Township, NJ. Memorial contributions may be made to Adath Israel Congregation or Hadassah.
Shiva will be held at the home of Sheila Davidoff on Saturday at 7 pm, with a minyan at 7:30 pm, and on Sunday from 1:00 to 5:00 pm, and at 7:00 pm with a minyan at 8:30 pm.
On Monday and Tuesday, shiva will be held at the home of Eileen and Norman Shoenfeld from 1:00 to 5:00 pm and at 7:00 pm.
