Dad’s life embodied the experiences and achievements that drove 20th century America’s incredible economic, technological, intellectual, and cultural expansion, which laid the foundations of the modern world and created the most broadly prosperous and educated society in history. Raised by immigrant Jewish parents of little English and little means during the Great Depression and the Second World War, he attended the prestigious Bronx Science High School and earned a college degree in chemistry, served his country, became a successful technical professional, and enjoyed a long and pleasant retirement. He knew he wanted to marry Janet, a fellow Bronx native, the moment he met her, and after her retirement they followed their dream of traveling widely and often. Thank you Dad, for all the lessons you taught by example, and for everything you built for your children with your life.
