Joan Bea Eros
1929 – 2025
Joan Bea Eros, age 95, wife of the late John Eros and daughter of the late Lena and Louis Greenspan died Monday, March 10, 2025 in Brooklyn, NY.
Born in Harrisburg, PA, Joan loved her childhood, Big Band music of the 40s, dancing, and American History. She was a 40-year resident of Yardley PA and a long-time member of Adath Israel Congregation where she served on sisterhood committees. During her daughter Lynn’s childhood, Joan spent many evenings and weekends at softball games loyally cheering on the team. Family meant everything, and Joan hosted many holiday meals – delicious kugel and brisket!
In her 20s, Joan resided in New York City and worked for CBS television. Joan retired from Morrisville School District where she was in Accounts Payable. In her 80s she audited a history class at Bucks County Community College and added a unique perspective to the students.
In 2013 she moved to Brooklyn Heights to be close to Lynn. Joan loved Brooklyn, her 100-year-old building, many meals and laughs with Lynn, and the special friends she made.
Joan is survived by her beloved daughter Lynn Eros.
Family and friends are invited to the funeral service at 10:30am Thursday March 13th at Orland’s Ewing Memorial Chapel, 1534 Pennington Road, Ewing, NJ. Burial will follow at the Adath Israel Section of Fountain Lawn Memorial Park in Ewing, NJ.
The family respectfully requests contributions in Joan’s memory in lieu of flowers to the American Cancer Society, Greenwood House, Alzheimer’s Association, or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Such a blessing to have your Mum at 95, and living close by. Sending you strength and peace. May her memory be a blessing xxx
I met Joan only once, but she made a lasting impression on me. Her daughter Lynn had hosted a book club that I belonged to, and she invited her mom to join us to discuss the book we all had read. After the meeting was over, I turned towards Joan to say hello because I had been sitting next to her. We soon discovered that we had both been later-in-life mothers, and we had a lengthy discussion about that shared journey. Joan was warm and lovely and her smile was constant and positively infectious. Looking back on this wonderful encounter, I wish I had made time to talk to her again.
I have fond memories of cousin Joan from encounters at many family seders. Such wonderful memories. Joan was a lovely woman and it was always a pleasure to be and talk with her. My heartfelt condolences to Lynn. My thoughts are with you at this time.
